I LONG FOR THE GOOD OLD DAYS!

You neglected to include Congress in the mix, COMRADE!

With a powerful speaker of the house of reps, who picked all the committee chairpersons, and all the chairpersons then chose DEMOCRATS to sit on the committee, then Congress becomes extremely powerful. That is where the check on AUTOCRACY AND FASCISM is created, and it is a good thing too! Without a congress we would have real autocratic fascism.
